The Mt. Cristo Rey Pilgrimage and Mass is an annual tradition that has taken place over the last 80 years. Thousands participate each year as a commemoration of their faith. At the top of the Mountain is a 29-foot tall monument of Jesus Christ on the Cross. A celebratory Mass concludes the pilgrimage led by Fr. Alex Urena from the Diocese of Las Cruces.
The public is invited to join the local clergy as they do their climb up Mt. Cristo Rey. The gates will open at 6:00 a.m. and will close at 2 p.m. Due to the road closures of Sunland Park Drive and Racetrack drive, please use Paisano, Futurity Dr. or Country Club Road. The event is free; however, the public is encouraged to make a donation that contributes to the maintenance and upkeep of the trail and monument. Pets are not allowed.
